Great success for Bardolino Chiaretto at Mondial du Rosé in Cannes

Italy won three gold medals at Mondial du Rosé, France, and all three have been rewarded to Bardolino Chiaretto of the Venetian shore of Lake Garda. The competition of the Union of French winemakers takes place in Cannes, on the French Riviera, home of the great transalpine rosé wines. Joint panels composed of French and international wine experts and journalists taste rosé wines from all over the world: averagely a thousand samples for tasting, provided by tenants from over twenty countries. In the 2013 event, held in late April, Italy won three gold medals, assigned to as many Chiaretto wines of Bardolino Doc. Two gold medals at sisters Claudia (on the right in photo) and Julia Benazzoli with Bardolino Chiaretto and Bardolino Chiaretto Spumante, a third gold medal was rewarded to brothers Fausto, Elena (on the left in photo) and Federica Zeni with Bardolino Chiaretto Classico Vigne Alte. “It is no coincidence – says Giorgio Tommasi, president of Consorzio di tutela del Bardolino – that in five years we have increased from 5 to more than 10 million bottles of Chiaretto sold in Italy and worldwide. Similar increases can only be achieved by pushing on quality“.
