The Chinese invest in Chianti Classico

In early 2013, a Chinese businessman from Hong Kong bought a small company, Casa Nova, with eight hectares of vineyards, a hectare of olive trees and two colonic groups turned into agriturismo located in Greve, the capital of Chianti Gallo Nero, between Florence and Siena. This fact is justified by 2012 record-breaking increase by 17% in exports of Italian wine towards the Asian country. Exports of Italian wine in China reached a record-breaking value of 77 million euro, but there are still great opportunities in a country that ranks fifth among the largest consuming countries, with demands reaching almost 18 million hectoliters and an increase by 9%.
